[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, is holding a 'Alleyway Naming Contest' for four locations in the Yongpyeong-ri Urban Regeneration Barrier-Free Safe Alley Project.

According to Hamyang-gun on the 20th, the 'Yongpyeong-ri Barrier-Free Safe Alley' project is a project aimed at improving the pedestrian environment of deteriorated alleyways and transforming them into CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) themed places for the safety of all residents.

The contest deadline is until the 31st. Hamyang-gun will select names that reflect local characteristics and contain stories and memories, awarding three winners: one grand prize winner (worth 300,000 KRW), two excellence prize winners (worth 100,000 KRW each), with certificates and prizes (Hamyang Love Gift Certificates).

Center Director Son Jae-hyun said, "We hope to capture many memories of the old alleys of Hamyang and Yongpyeong-ri through this contest," adding, "We will strive to make this a people-centered urban regeneration project with resident participation."
