Gyeongju City "Enhancing Local Farmers' Understanding of the 'Public Interest Direct Payment System'"

The topic was selected at the ‘Hope Agriculture’ seminar, which covers the direction of agricultural development and policy education in the Gyeongju area.
The Gyeongju Chapter of the Korea Agricultural Managers Association held the ‘22nd Gyeongju Hope Agriculture Seminar’ online on the 18th, with members and farmers participating.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the seminar was conducted online, with Mr. Jo Joo-hyun from the Direct Payment Management Division of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service serving as the instructor.
The seminar included education on the public interest direct payment system, such as the implementation framework, farmers’ compliance requirements, and penalties for fraudulent claims, followed by participant discussions.
Chairman Kim Sang-jin commented, “Many farmers lacked information about the public interest direct payment system,” adding, “It was a time to easily understand the system and share a lot of information.”
A Gyeongju city official said, “It is meaningful that this valuable seminar was held for the development of local agriculture under difficult conditions,” and added, “We hope the public interest direct payment system will be stably established.”
