Fantagio "Astro Achieves First Domestic Terrestrial Broadcast No.1 Since Debut"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Fantagio announced on the 17th that its group Astro achieved their first-ever No. 1 on domestic terrestrial broadcasts after 1,999 days since debut by ranking first on KBS 2TV’s ‘Music Bank’ and MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ on the 13th and 14th respectively. Astro also received trophies on SBS MTV’s ‘The Show’ on the 10th and MBC every1’s ‘Show Champion’ on the 11th, achieving a grand slam of four music show wins.


Right after releasing their 8th mini album ‘SWITCH ON,’ Astro’s title track ‘After Midnight’ topped the ‘Bugs Music’ chart. SWITCH ON recorded initial domestic sales of 275,000 copies (first-week album sales).


They also showed rapid growth from the start by ranking first on the Gaon Chart’s 32nd week album chart. Along with this, Astro achieved a triple crown on the Gaon Chart by ranking first on the BGM and download charts as well.


Immediately after the release of SWITCH ON, Astro’s title track ‘After Midnight’ ranked first on the US iTunes Top Songs chart. They set a new record by ranking first in 37 countries and regions, including the Top Albums chart. Additionally, on Japan’s Oricon Chart, they ranked 2nd on the weekly overseas music album ranking and 5th on the weekly album ranking.


A Fantagio representative said, "Astro’s ‘SWITCH ON’ has garnered support from a global fandom, achieving their first No. 1 domestically after topping overseas music charts, solidifying their position as a genuine global group. The company plans to focus on entertainment business centered on Astro while accelerating new ventures such as drama production.”
