Suseong Innovation "Future Hightech, Anticipates DDR5 Benefits in Second Half"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Suseong Innovation announced on the 17th that its performance is expected to improve in the second half of the year due to the full-scale mass production of DDR5 by global semiconductor companies. Suseong is the largest shareholder of Future Hightech, a first-tier vendor of SK Hynix.

Suseong Innovation anticipated that the demand for Future Hightech’s components will increase with the semiconductor market’s transition to DDR5. Future Hightech succeeded in developing DDR5 for the first time in the world in 2018. It has been a first-tier vendor for SK Hynix since last year. Future Hightech developed and applied products (P/Card Interposer Ass'y) for SK Hynix in 2012 and was registered as a first-tier vendor (Burn-In Board) for SK Hynix in 2014. In 2020, it developed connectors for semiconductor inspection equipment (MPT, Marking Permanency Test) for SK Hynix.

Suseong Innovation’s subsidiary Future Hightech (57.12% stake) is a comprehensive semiconductor test solution company. It produces test sockets and probe cards that inspect the electrical characteristics of wafers in both front-end and back-end semiconductor processes. Its major clients include Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, Microfriend, and Solbrain. It has also established a broad supply network overseas in the U.S., China, Taiwan, and other countries.

Kim Daejin, CEO of Suseong Innovation, said, "Future Hightech is expected to see increased demand for consumable inspection equipment components due to changes in new semiconductors such as DDR5, and orders from companies like Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are particularly anticipated." He added, "Sales are increasing due to large-scale line expansions by client companies, and if this trend continues, annual sales and operating profit improvements of over 30% are expected."
