"The reporter also explained that the rumor about supporting a specific candidate is unfounded"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Lee Jun-seok, the leader of the People Power Party, clarified on the 15th that it is not true that the conversation transcript with former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol was leaked. He stated that the recording file itself does not exist.
On the same day, through social media (SNS), Lee said, "Since last night, there have been stories about the release of a recorded conversation file and transcript between candidate Yoon Seok-yeol and me, as well as mysterious claims in an interview with a certain media outlet that I made supportive remarks about a specific candidate," adding, "First of all, since the leaked recording file does not exist, naturally, the transcript that was supposedly created and leaked also does not exist."
He explained, "On that date, more than 60 journalists intensely covered me on the specific contents of the conversation with candidate Yoon Seok-yeol. Since the conversation was not long, most of the content was conveyed to the journalists during the reporting process, and it seems that the orally conveyed parts were organized and documented."
Lee stated, "The one document circulating that was delivered to me also appears to be a format organizing those conveyed contents."
Additionally, he explained, "A journalist from a media outlet named in a mysterious information report as having heard my supportive remarks about a specific candidate just called me and informed me that it is groundless and incomprehensible."
