[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] The Democratic Research Institute, the think tank of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on the 11th, "We will definitely include the representative pledges of the six presidential primary candidates in the top 100 pledges to clearly demonstrate that we are one team."

On the same day, the Democratic Research Institute held the '1st Presidential Election Policy Camp Policy Working-Level Council' at the Democratic Party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, and announced this.

At the meeting, the policy heads of each camp attended: Lee Ro-moon, former policy committee expert of candidate Lee Jae-myung’s camp; Yoo Seung-joon, secretary of candidate Kim Du-kwan’s camp; Congressman Kim Sung-joo of candidate Chung Sye-kyun’s camp; Congressman Hong Sung-guk of candidate Lee Nak-yeon’s camp; Lee Si-seong, policy director and adjunct professor at Hansei University of candidate Park Yong-jin’s camp; and Kim Yoo-eun, professor at Hanyang University of candidate Chu Mi-ae’s camp. From the Democratic Research Institute, Director Noh Woong-rae and Deputy Director Jeon Jun-kyung attended.

Earlier, on the 28th of last month, the Democratic Research Institute jointly held the 20th Presidential Election One Team Agreement Ceremony with the Democratic Party Election Commission, signing the '20th Presidential Election Core Pledge One Team Agreement' which includes establishing a cooperative system for joint development of core pledges with the six presidential primary candidates.

At the meeting held that day, they shared plans for developing core presidential pledges, discussed cooperation needed for joint development of core pledges, and deliberated on the overall composition and operation of the policy working-level council, including designating communication and consultation officers between the Democratic Research Institute and the presidential election camps.

Director Noh Woong-rae of the Democratic Research Institute said, "It is very meaningful that the camps agreed to develop common presidential pledges centered on the party through inter-camp consultations," adding, "The Democratic Research Institute will provide wholehearted support to upgrade the representative pledges proposed by the six presidential candidates and develop party-centered policy visions and core party pledges." He emphasized, "Regarding the development of presidential pledges, we will actively reflect the ideas and opinions of each camp to recreate and launch the 4th Democratic government, and the Democratic Research Institute will firmly support this."

The Presidential Election Policy Camp Policy Working-Level Council plans to hold several working-level meetings for each camp along with plenary meetings until early October to upgrade the representative pledges of the six presidential candidates and promote them as the party’s core pledges.
