Wanju-gun Shortens Development Activity Review Process to Within 30 Days

Partial Amendment to ‘Wanju-gun Planning Ordinance’... Minimizing Resident Inconvenience

Wanju-gun Shortens Development Activity Review Process to Within 30 Days

[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju County plans to shorten the review period for agenda items of the county planning committee regarding various development activities to within 30 days.

Wanju County announced on the 11th that it will revise the 'Wanju County Planning Ordinance' for smooth and prompt civil complaint processing, and plans to promulgate and implement it on the 12th.

Regarding Article 59-3 of the Planning Ordinance, 'Agenda Processing Deadline and Proposal for Repeated Review,' the previous clause stating that 'the county planning committee must review within 45 days from the date of receiving the review request' has been amended to 'within 30 days.'

As a result, the review period for agenda items of the county planning committee related to various development activities closely connected to residents, such as solar power installation or warehouse construction, will be shortened, minimizing residents' inconvenience regarding the processing deadlines for permits and approvals.

Along with this, Wanju County has revised the ordinance using easy-to-understand legal terms in accordance with the amendment of the 'National Land Planning and Utilization Act,' making it easier for residents to comprehend.

Additionally, Article 25 has been newly established to include the 'Formation of a Joint Consultation Committee for Complex Development Civil Complaints,' creating an institutional mechanism to respond promptly and smoothly to the rapidly increasing collective and complex civil complaints.

The newly established consultation committee is intended to handle various agendas such as permits and approvals by convening responsible officials from related departments to collectively process complex civil complaints when applying for permits or changes related to various development activities.

The 'Wanju County Planning Ordinance' is based on the basic principles of the 'National Land Planning and Utilization Act,' including the county basic plan and management plan, district unit plans, permits for development activities, and restrictions on activities within use districts, zones, and areas.
