Daesang Cheongjeongwon Launches Two Types of 'Sunlight-Infused Seed Soy Sauce Aged Brewing Method Soy Sauce'


[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Daesang Cheongjeongwon announced on the 11th that it will launch two types of 'Sunshine-infused Seed Soy Sauce Aged Brewing Soy Sauce.'


Seed soy sauce refers to the best-tasting soy sauce selected and preserved over a long period. In fact, ancestors carefully stored the flavorful seed soy sauce and maintained a consistent taste and aroma over time by adding a small amount of freshly brewed soy sauce each year through a method called 'Deotjang.' This aged seed soy sauce is characterized by mellowed saltiness, a soft sweetness, and rich umami flavor.


Cheongjeongwon explained, "We are introducing new products using seed soy sauce to strengthen quality competitiveness in the traditional fermented sauce market and present a new paradigm for premium brewed soy sauce."


The 'Sunshine-infused Brewing Soy Sauce' is made by applying the 'Seed Soy Sauce Aging Method.' This aging method inherits the Deotjang technique of adding seed soy sauce to fresh soy sauce, enhancing deep and smooth flavors during aging. The 'Seed Soy Sauce Aging Method Brewing Soy Sauce' and 'Seed Soy Sauce Aging Method Brewing Soy Sauce Gold' are aged with seed soy sauce that has been matured for over 9 and 11 years, respectively. Since carefully selected soy sauce is combined with long-fermented seed soy sauce, it offers a deep and smooth flavor with a clean aftertaste. It pairs well not only with simple seasoned or stir-fried dishes but also with luxurious Korean dishes such as galbijjim (braised short ribs), jeonbokjang (braised abalone), and saewoojang (braised shrimp).


To celebrate the launch of the new products, Daesang plans to hold a prize event until the 1st of next month. Customers who purchase the new products at E-Mart, Lotte Mart, or Homeplus and submit a photo of the receipt following the on-site instructions can enter a draw to win prizes such as Samsung Bespoke appliances and LG Objet appliances.


Meanwhile, Daesang produces all its soy sauce products using 100% natural aging. Since entering the soy sauce market in June 1997 with the launch of the 'Sunshine-infused Soy Sauce' brand and introducing a new purpose-specific product called 'Sunshine-infused Braised Soy Sauce,' Daesang has persistently offered only 100% naturally aged soy sauce to maintain its status as a leading company in the fermented sauce industry.
