Use Nationwide 20 Charging Stations with One Membership Signup and Payment
From New Car Care and Protection to Comprehensive Management All at Once
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Kia announced on the 11th that it has launched 'Kia EV Members,' a specialized membership program for electric vehicle (EV) buyers. EV Members consists of services across four main areas: charging roaming, car care, life care, and vehicle maintenance.
First, Kia has partnered with the EV charging operator Estraffic to provide an integrated charging roaming service. By joining EV Members, customers can use all 20 domestic charging stations without separate registration for each operator through the integrated mobile customer application 'Kia VIK.'
When paying for charging, Kia Members points can be used at 100% value at all partner charging stations. Points can also be used for payment when using the on-demand pickup charging service and Hyundai Motor Group’s ultra-fast EV charging stations called E-pit.
The 'EV Car Care Program' specializes in new car exterior damage and management services. Members can select from ▲EV Style Care (replacement/repair guarantee for pre-selected exterior damage), ▲EV Safety Care (support for new car purchase costs in case of total loss accidents such as theft, fire, or flooding), and ▲EV Tire Care (replacement of damaged tires). These services can be subscribed to using Kia Members points. Additionally, various packages such as vehicle protection film, air purification, and shield services are available for new car care, which customers can purchase and subscribe to according to their preferences.
EV Members also offers customized lifestyle services for EV buyers. Customers can apply for and pay for life care products according to their preferences, including subscription services across various fields such as reading, online video streaming (OTT), music streaming, webtoons, as well as self-service car washes, camping meal kits, and drive-in theaters.
EV Members also introduced a comprehensive EV maintenance service called 'EVerything Care.' This includes the 'EV Regular Inspection Service,' which provides free inspections of key components such as the high-voltage battery, motor room coolant, and reduction gear oil eight times over eight years from the month of vehicle delivery to maintain optimal vehicle condition. It also offers the 'EV Safe Roadside Assistance Service,' which supports transportation to the desired destination in emergency situations such as battery discharge within five years of purchase.
Moreover, even after the free warranty period expires, customers can extend the warranty by making additional payments using Kia Membership points. Kia also provides two exclusive EV services for first-time EV6 buyers: 'EV6 Quick Care,' which allows maintenance at direct service centers anytime without a separate reservation, and 'EV6 Remote Diagnosis,' which detects abnormal signs in the high-voltage battery in real time and notifies customers.
Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch of Kia EV Members, Kia and Hyundai Card are offering various benefits to new applicants of the 'Kia Members Electric Vehicle Credit Card.' Customers can receive a 50% or 100% discount on EV charging fees nationwide. Those who pay over 10 million KRW for their vehicle with this card and apply for the Save-Auto program will receive up to a 50% subsidy on the EV Safety Care subscription fee and up to 350,000 KRW support for purchasing home-installed chargers.
Especially for EV6 customers, in addition to new car purchase points, an additional 300,000 EV Care points are provided for vehicle maintenance at Kia’s official service network. Pre-order customers for the EV6 will also receive an additional 300,000 Welcome Charging points.
A Kia official stated, "We launched the differentiated EV program EV Members to help all customers who purchase Kia electric vehicles enjoy a more convenient and safer car life by resolving charging concerns." He added, "We will continue to strive to expand infrastructure and provide various programs exclusively for Kia EV buyers."
