ADChips Achieves 5.5 Billion KRW in Sales of COVID-19 Vaccine Refrigerators in First Half of Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] ADChips announced on the 6th that its medical refrigerator business is benefiting from the surge in demand for refrigerators used to store COVID-19 vaccines.

A company official stated, "Sales of medical refrigerators for storing COVID-19 vaccines have surged, achieving approximately 5.5 billion KRW in sales in the first half of this year alone," adding, "We expect high growth in the refrigeration and freezing division due to increased demand for vaccine storage refrigerators as global COVID-19 vaccination expands."

ADChips operates its refrigeration and freezing division in the manufacturing and distribution of refrigerators. It mainly produces commercial refrigerators and showcases, selling products through OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and online malls. Additionally, the company has completed the development of medical refrigerators with higher quality standards using its own technology and has begun full-scale sales.

In the future, ADChips plans to develop various medical refrigerators tailored to diverse needs beyond COVID-19 vaccine storage refrigerators to expand its market dominance.

ADChips is actively promoting the medical refrigerator business as a new growth engine. Based on differentiated technology, the company plans to focus its capabilities on developing next-generation new products.

A company representative said, "Since 2017, we have been developing medical refrigerators for various purposes such as blood, reagents, and vaccine storage," and added, "Once the new factory to be built in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do is completed, we expect the expansion of the medical refrigerator business to accelerate."

He continued, "We plan to soon supply vaccine storage refrigerators mainly to Southeast Asia, where there are difficulties in low-temperature vaccine storage."
