Seoul City to Recruit 200 Participants on a First-Come, First-Served Basis from the 10th for Free Online Traditional Food Classes
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 6th that it will hold a free online traditional food course where participants can learn about traditional snacks enjoyed in summer and Korean seasonings made with traditional sauces. The course will be conducted online over two days, the 13th and 17th, at the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center.
Each session will accommodate 100 participants, with a total of 200 trainees being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis via the internet starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10. The Korean dessert class on the 13th will demonstrate three types of Korean desserts, while the Korean seasoning class on the 17th will showcase four types of Korean seasonings made using traditional sauces, all through online demonstrations.
Jo Sang-tae, director of the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center, said, "To help people overcome the hot summer and difficulties caused by COVID-19, we have prepared education on summer Korean desserts, one of the traditional foods, and various Korean seasonings that can be used in diverse dishes." He added, "We expect this to contribute to spreading healthy traditional foods among citizens."
