Expectations for Local Economic Revitalization with the Distribution of Gangjin Sarang Gift Certificates
[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin County, Jeollanam-do, is providing 100,000 KRW per person as a moving-in incentive when applying for the incentive to residents who moved in after January 1, 2021, according to the revised "Gangjin County Population Policy Basic Ordinance and Enforcement Rules."
According to the county on the 5th, the "Gangjin County Population Policy Basic Ordinance and Enforcement Rules" were revised, implemented, and promulgated on January 1 to respond to the low birthrate and aging society and to address the annually decreasing population problem.
This is the first revision in 11 years since the enforcement of the "Gangjin County Population Increase Policy Support Ordinance" in 2009, reflecting the basis for establishing comprehensive population policy plans and implementation plans, and stipulating the support targets and criteria for various population policy projects in the enforcement rules.
Before the revision, 30,000 KRW per person was paid immediately upon moving-in registration without any restrictions, which led to many cases of receiving the support money and then moving out again. However, after the revision, the incentive can be applied for and received only after six months from the moving-in registration.
In addition, the support money is paid in Gangjin Love Gift Certificates (mobile or paper), which is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
The support money can be applied for six months after moving-in registration at the town or township office with jurisdiction over the new address, and applicants can choose between mobile gift certificates and paper gift certificates.
The mobile gift certificates are sent to mobile phones and can be used at Zero Pay affiliated stores within the region, while the paper gift certificates can be received at the town or township office of the address and used at any store within the jurisdiction.
County Governor Lee Seung-ok said, "Since last year, we have been promoting the Gangjin Love Living Movement targeting executives and employees of various institutions and organizations as well as residents," adding, "In addition to expanding the moving-in incentive, we will provide information on various policies and benefits to help new residents settle well in Gangjin County."
Besides the moving-in incentive payment, the county is promoting various policies such as the Gangjin Love Living Movement, visiting address change services, Gangjin Love Youth Housing Support Project, and newlywed couple marriage congratulatory money support.
