[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CJ CheilJedang announced on the 5th that it has launched three new products under the ‘The Bibigo’ line and started selling them at 41 Emart stores nationwide.
The three new ‘The Bibigo’ products are Hwanggi Chicken Baeksuk, Nutritious Oxtail Soup, and Young Radish Doenjang Rice Bowl Sauce. All focus on high protein and low sodium. ‘The Bibigo Hwanggi Chicken Baeksuk’ contains a whole domestic chicken leg and adds depth of flavor with chicken breast. It enhances nutrition and taste with healthy ingredients such as Hwanggi (Astragalus), mung beans, and glutinous rice, which are representative health foods.
‘The Bibigo Nutritious Oxtail Soup’ is made with broth directly simmered from Korean beef oxtail bones, flavored with garlic and ginger, and enriched with Korean beef oxtail meat and shank. ‘The Bibigo Young Radish Doenjang Rice Bowl Sauce’ is a dietary fiber-containing product that allows you to enjoy a hearty rice bowl with domestic young radish, savory stir-fried pork, and potatoes.
CJ CheilJedang confirmed the growth potential of ‘The Bibigo,’ which was previously sold mainly in department stores and CJ The Market, and expanded its distribution channels to large supermarkets. Starting from the 11th, a ‘Healthy Meal’ theme zone will be set up at stores selling ‘The Bibigo,’ where Hetbahn Sotban will be displayed and sold together.
‘The Bibigo’ was developed based on CJ’s strict product design standards called the ‘CJ Nutrition Design Guideline.’ The ‘CJ Nutrition Design Guideline’ is a standard applied to calories and five nutrients (fat, saturated fat, trans fat, sugars, sodium) verified by the Korean Nutrition Society. Launched in November last year, ‘The Bibigo’ promotes ‘balanced Korean meals designed with health in mind,’ adding beneficial nutrients such as protein and dietary fiber while reducing sodium and cholesterol, differentiating it from existing ‘Bibigo’ products.
