Korea Federation of SMEs Establishes 'ESG Difficulty Reporting Center' to Promote Management Stability for Small and Medium Enterprises

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (KSMB) has established an 'ESG Grievance Reporting Center' on its website to address difficulties related to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management faced by small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

On the 5th, KSMB announced that following the establishment of a dedicated ESG team last month, it has opened the ESG Grievance Reporting Center. This initiative aims to alleviate the burdens caused by rapid changes in the business environment on SMEs and to support their smooth transition to sustainable management practices.

The ESG Grievance Reporting Center will serve as a channel to collect grievances from the SME sector and derive improvement measures.

SMEs will be able to report various ESG-related difficulties, including unfair demands from business partners, excessive evaluation costs, confusion over evaluation criteria, and requests for government support.

Submitted grievances will undergo fact-checking and review before being proposed as improvement requests and policy tasks to the government, National Assembly, and large corporations to promote management stability for SMEs.

The center can be accessed through the 'ESG Grievance Reporting Center' tab in the consultation section on the KSMB website. Without separate membership registration, users can simply authenticate to report grievances and check their status.

Jung Wook-jo, Head of the Innovation Growth Division at KSMB, stated, "We established the ESG Grievance Reporting Center to listen to and promptly respond to difficulties that may arise as ESG demands expand among SMEs. We will strive to improve policies so that the voices of SMEs can contribute to the spread of a desirable ESG management culture."
