Seoul Eco-friendly Distribution Center Presents Seoul School Meal Case at UN Food Systems Summit Pre-Meeting
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] The Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (President Kim Kyung-ho) presented Seoul's school meal system as a best practice at the 'UN Food Systems Pre-summit,' held in a hybrid format in Rome, Italy, on the 28th of last month.
This event was a pre-summit held ahead of the United Nations Food Systems Summit scheduled for September. It aimed to coordinate and concretize various opinions discussed or raised in the international community over the past two years to ensure productive outcomes at the summit.
In particular, the corporation's presentation was made at the request of the UN, which wished to share Seoul's exemplary cases of eco-friendly school meals.
Kim Dae-young, Director of the Eco-friendly Distribution Center, explained the Seoul school meal process and various efforts to resolve stakeholder issues during the virtual presentation, concluding, “The Eco-friendly Distribution Center will continue to do its best to ensure safe and healthy food for all children through close cooperation with the central government and Seoul city.”
