[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 4th that it will carry out pest control for mosquitoes, cockroaches, and other pests using big data analysis.
This project was promoted to enhance the health of residents by predicting pest occurrence locations and times through big data analysis and conducting proactive pest control activities.
By December, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, various data such as pest control complaint status, building registers, and resident population will be combined and analyzed to establish a monthly optimal pest control target model.
Based on the analyzed data, a pest control map will be created to manage pest occurrence vulnerable areas.
Buk-gu plans to actively utilize the pest control map in pest control operations, conducting proactive pest control slightly earlier than complaint reception or pest control timing to maximize pest control effectiveness.
A Buk-gu official stated, “We will strive to protect the health and safety of residents through proactive and scientific pest control activities by predicting priority pest control points and concentrated areas in advance.”
