[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] It was announced on the 4th that the number of visitors to the Boseong-gun live commerce event, which started in April as a pre-event for the 10th Boseong World Tea Expo to be held next year, has been steadily increasing, helping the sales of local agricultural specialty products.
The Boseong live commerce event, held once a month through its own live commerce mall and Naver, has attracted nearly 30,000 netizens so far, with sales of specialty products exceeding 100 million won.
The county planned the live commerce event to promote the Boseong World Tea Expo, which will mark its 10th anniversary next year, and to provide an online sales channel for local farmers and small business owners who have had difficulty securing sales channels due to COVID-19.
So far, nearly 30 farms and companies have participated, showcasing various local products such as Boseong green tea, potatoes, green pork, and natural dye products.
Kim Young-ok, CEO of Wondang Jeda, a participating company, said, “Since this event allows sales to the entire nation regardless of time and place, it can reduce time and costs, and the saved costs can be passed on as discounts to consumers, so it seems like a good plan.”
A county official said, “Although sales are not very high yet, we consider this an opportunity to introduce Boseong-gun’s excellent products to a diverse customer base,” adding, “We will continue to communicate more closely with farmers so that both consumers and farmers can win-win.”
Meanwhile, the county plans to hold the 9th Ontact Boseong World Tea Expo from the 3rd to the 5th of next month.
