[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] A man in his 40s who disrupted business by swearing and spitting in a supermarket while intoxicated and not wearing a mask was sentenced to a fine.
The Ulsan District Court Criminal Division 5 (Presiding Judge Kim Jeong-cheol) announced on the 4th that A (47), who was tried on charges of obstruction of business, property damage, and assault, was sentenced to a fine of 2 million won.
The court stated, "It is recognized that the defendant was intoxicated and disrupted business inside the supermarket, causing physical and material damage to the victim." It added, "Considering the victim's recovery and the defendant's criminal record, a fine was imposed."
A was previously indicted for entering a supermarket in Jung-gu, Ulsan, in October 2020 while intoxicated and without wearing a mask, loudly swearing at supermarket employee B, spitting, and disrupting business for about 20 minutes.
Investigations confirmed that A became enraged when B recorded him on a mobile phone, damaging the phone and assaulting B by kicking it.
