Establishment of a 2,250-pyeong Integrated Analysis Technology Center
Expecting Synergy through Collaboration by Pooling Analysis Personnel and Infrastructure
Increased Investment Efficiency by Reducing Redundant Investments
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] SK Hynix has consolidated its dispersed analysis personnel and infrastructure to launch an integrated 'Analysis Technology Center.' By unifying the operating system, the company aims to enhance research and development and quality competitiveness, setting a goal to improve analysis processing capacity by more than 30% this year.
SK Hynix announced on the 4th that, for operational optimization, it decided to gather analysis technology personnel and equipment in one place and established the Analysis Technology Center last month on the first floor of the P&T1 building, covering an area of 7,500㎡ (approximately 2,250 pyeong). To strengthen company-wide solution competitiveness, a 'Solution Lab' of the same scale was also built on the second floor of the same building.
Under the previous operating method, collaboration efficiency among each analysis room was low, and some duplication occurred in equipment investment and operation. From the perspective of equipment maintenance, the long travel distance for workers caused time delays.
Lee Ki-jung, head of SK Hynix's Analysis Technology Center, said, "We expect that experts from various fields will actively collaborate in one space, enabling comprehensive analysis," adding, "Sharing advanced equipment to solve difficult problems will reduce redundant investments, thereby increasing efficiency relative to investment costs."
The newly launched Analysis Technology Center has set a goal to improve the company's annual analysis processing capacity by more than 30% compared to the previous year by leveraging advantages such as increased investment efficiency, enhanced operational efficiency, and strengthened analysis competitiveness. Additionally, it plans to reduce the time required to provide essential Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) analysis for product development from the current 48 hours to 24 hours. From a long-term perspective, nurturing future analysis technology experts and strengthening support capabilities for partner companies are also tasks assigned to the Analysis Technology Center.
Lee Jae-sung, TL in charge of the Analysis and Measurement Support Center supporting partner companies, said, "With the integration of the Analysis Technology Center into one location, logistics processes will be simplified, and collaboration with analysis support personnel will be strengthened," adding, "We also expect a reduction in response time to analysis requests from partner companies through this."
