The main targets of the crackdown are unauthorized entry into the water source protection area for summer leisure, as well as activities that pollute the water source such as bathing, swimming, and harvesting shellfish.
The county formed a crackdown team consisting of 6 members in 2 teams to conduct regular patrols during weekdays, night patrols and surveillance activities, and plans to strengthen frequent patrols on weekends and holidays using various equipment such as CCTV.
A county official urged special caution, stating, "If caught, strong sanctions may be imposed, including criminal charges under Article 83 of the Water Supply Act, which can result in imprisonment of up to 2 years or a fine of up to 20 million won."
