Mokpo Coast Guard Urgently Transfers Nonagenarian Emergency Patient from Island Village

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Im Jae-su) urgently transported an elderly emergency patient from an island village.

According to the maritime police, at around 10:11 a.m. on the 3rd, a report was received that Ms. A (female, in her 90s) in Jodo, Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, showed symptoms of high blood pressure and needed hospital treatment.

The maritime police dispatched a coastal patrol boat from the police substation and, after boarding the patient and guardian at 10:36 a.m., began urgent transport. After 21 minutes, at 10:57 a.m., they safely handed over the patient to the 119 ambulance team waiting at Seomang Port, Jindo-gun.

Thanks to the maritime police's assistance, the emergency patient Ms. A was transferred to a large hospital in Mokpo and is currently receiving treatment.

This year, the Mokpo Maritime Police Station has urgently transported 159 emergency patients from island villages and at sea using patrol vessels and helicopters.
