Kim Hyun-chul Supports Yoon Seok-yeol... "Reminds Me of YS"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] Kim Hyun-chul, Executive Director of the Kim Young-sam Democracy Center, has publicly expressed his support for former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol. In particular, he made a remark that Yoon reminds him of former President Kim Young-sam (YS).

On the 3rd, Director Kim stated on Facebook, "I believe that the majority of the people trust and support former Prosecutor General Yoon as the only suitable candidate who can achieve a regime change by standing firmly against injustice," adding, "He reminds me of President Kim Young-sam, who risked his life in the democratization struggle to end military rule."

He continued, "Although he shows some inexperience as a political novice, when looking at the bigger picture, he has taken the lead in uncovering various ugly corruptions and misgovernances of the current regime, which is a living power with a sharp edge, more than anyone else," emphasizing, "It would have been impossible without him."

He also mentioned his son, who joined Yoon’s campaign. Kim’s son, Kim In-gyu, has experience working as a policy secretary in the office of Kwon Young-se, a member of the People Power Party. Kim said, "He must have discussed his position with many people, but on July 24th, former Prosecutor General Yoon visited the YS Library and had a private meeting for about an hour and a half, during which they candidly exchanged various opinions regarding Yoon’s entry into the People Power Party, my son In-gyu’s joining of Yoon’s campaign, and Yoon’s future moves related to the upcoming presidential election." Kim In-gyu is expected to be responsible for executive duties and youth policy-related work in Yoon’s campaign.
