[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Seon-gap, the mayor of Gwangjin-gu, has transformed into a YouTuber to introduce citizen experience-oriented projects through Gwangjin-gu Office's official YouTube channel, 'Policy Story.'
The 'Policy Story' segment is a dialogue-style content where the mayor answers questions that citizens may have about projects that benefit them directly. To deliver the information easily and concisely, each video is produced to be within 3 minutes.
The videos are filmed at the Gwangjin-gu Internet Broadcasting Station studio and uploaded twice a month on the official Gwangjin-gu Office YouTube channel and the Internet Broadcasting Station section of the Gwangjin-gu Office website.
Since June, Mayor Kim has provided detailed explanations on ▲Citizen Life Safety Insurance ▲Gwangjin Mom Taxi ▲080 Easy Call Communication Fee Support ▲Children and Youth Village Bus Transportation Fee Support projects to ensure citizens do not miss out on benefits.
Going forward, videos will be produced on newly launched citizen experience-oriented projects this year, such as group bicycle insurance.
Additionally, recognizing the importance of communication with citizens through YouTube, the district is producing eight types of content to promote information, including ▲'Good Life,' delivering valuable news about Gwangjin-gu ▲'Gwangjin YouTuber,' utilizing dedicated YouTubers for promotion ▲'Gwang(진) Ju(요소식) Ri(이미지광고),' providing lifestyle information, among others.
Kim Seon-gap, mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, face-to-face communication with citizens has become difficult, so we decided to produce videos to reach out in a friendly way through YouTube, which is non-face-to-face but approachable. We will continue to engage more closely with citizens through diverse content.”
He added, “This year, we have discovered 158 new projects, of which 50 are citizen experience-oriented projects. To address questions about these new projects, we have created easy-to-understand videos, and we hope they will be very helpful to all citizens.”
