According to the city on the 3rd, this initiative aims to strengthen mutual cooperation between the administration and each agricultural cooperative to promote regional agricultural development, increase farm income, and improve the quality of life for farmers.

Earlier, on the 30th of last month, the city held a working committee meeting (Chairman: Director of Agricultural Policy Division) at the Agricultural Technology Center to discover cooperative projects between local agricultural cooperatives and the local government.

At the meeting, five team leaders from the city's agricultural departments and heads of eight agricultural cooperatives attended to discuss ways to develop regional agriculture, increase farmers' income, and promote win-win cooperation between the local government and agricultural cooperatives.

The meeting proceeded with guidance from the city's Agricultural Policy Planning Team Leader and the head of the Nonghyup City Branch on discovering projects for the next year, followed by opinion discussions, Q&A sessions, and listening to difficulties.

Starting with this meeting, local agricultural cooperatives will propose projects for regional agricultural development in various fields such as agricultural machinery, livestock, and horticulture to the city by the 20th.

The city plans to review the feasibility of the projects discovered by the agricultural cooperatives and reflect them in the next year's main budget after deliberation.

Jeon Jeonggi, Director of Agricultural Policy Division, said, "To increase farm income and develop regional agriculture, let us work together with Jeongeup City and local agricultural cooperatives to discover linked projects that many farmers can enjoy and use jointly."

Meanwhile, since 2019, the city has organized and operated a working committee for local government cooperative projects involving eight regional agricultural cooperatives.

Through this, they have discovered and promoted 15 projects worth 3 billion KRW, including soil environment improvement projects and purchase support projects.
