According to Daegu City on the 3rd, 37 new confirmed cases were added in one day, bringing the cumulative total to 11,755.
Among the new confirmed cases, 11 were from a Taekwondo gym in Suseong-gu.
The number of confirmed cases in Daegu, which had been holding steady in the 20s for two days and showing signs of slowing spread, rose back to the 30s in one day.
At the Taekwondo gym where the first confirmed case was reported on the 1st, one staff member, seven users, and three nth-generation contacts of users were consecutively confirmed positive on the 2nd.
Some of the Taekwondo gym students are connected to a church, and Daegu quarantine authorities are reportedly investigating the correlation.
Additionally, three cases are related to the sporadic infections continuing at the Seomun Market shopping area in Jung-gu.
Following one merchant on the 2nd floor of Seomun Market testing positive on July 26, the infection spread to merchants on the 3rd floor, customers, and through chain infections, increasing the cumulative confirmed cases to 20.
Besides these, one case was confirmed related to a health club in Suseong-gu with a cumulative 144 infections, one case from chain infections linked to an auto parts company in Dalseo-gu with 47 confirmed cases, and one case from nth-generation infection at a business site in Jung-gu with 9 infections.
Fifteen people were confirmed positive through contact with confirmed cases, and the infection route for five people remains unknown.
