[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seohyun] Former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk claimed that Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential primary candidate, is no different from former Presidential Chief of Staff Kim Ki-chun based on his recent words and actions.

On the 2nd, Cho shared an article titled "Kim Ki-chun's 'Turning Night into Day, Devastating Families...' Harsh Work Guidelines" on his Facebook and made this statement.

He said, "Do you remember these guidelines?" and added, "A presidential candidate has emerged who internalizes the creed of turning night into day, turning holidays into weekdays, devastating families, and normalizing ramen," criticizing former Prosecutor General Yoon.

This appears to be a critique of Yoon's recent controversial remarks such as "working 120 hours a week," "feminism is the cause of low birth rates," and "people without means should be able to choose even substandard food."

Previously, Cho also publicized Yoon's so-called "substandard food" remark. On his Facebook, he shared a YouTube video pointing out Yoon's statement, saying, "'Unless you get sick and die, people without means should be able to choose even substandard food.' This remark was missed."

He further posted, sarcastically stating, "According to Yoon Seok-yeol's economic philosophy, 'people without means' should be able to choose and eat even below substandard food, and should be able to choose to work 120 hours a week." He continued to post more than ten related articles consecutively, pressing Yoon.

The 'Kim Ki-chun Former Chief of Staff Work Guidelines' are contents written in the work notebook of the late Kim Young-han, former Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs at the Blue House.

The memorandum (work notebook) attached to the article contains the word 'Noseon' (route) along with notes stating "① Turning night into day ② Turning holidays into weekdays ③ Devastating families." Following this, a star mark highlights the phrase "Normalizing ramen." The date the memo was written (June 14, 2014) was Kim's first day at work.

The memo ends with the phrase, "(The Blue House is) a place that feeds on honor, there is no enjoy (pleasure) of any kind. Devote everything and dedicate."

Meanwhile, Kim was known as the second-in-command during former President Park Geun-hye's administration. He was detained over allegations including the "cultural blacklist" and was released in 2019 after his detention period expired. Subsequently, he was sent to a retrial on charges such as abuse of power, but the ruling has been delayed due to the resignation of former special prosecutor Park Young-soo.
