Reception of audiovisual materials, documents, and museum artifacts until the 20th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] The Mokpo Cultural City Center is hosting the 'Mokpo Citizen Private Records Contest.'
The center will accept submissions of records until the 20th, and after evaluation, the final results will be announced in September.
The center will select 22 winners: 1 Grand Prize winner (1 million KRW), 3 Excellence Award winners (each 500,000 KRW), 3 Merit Award winners (each 200,000 KRW), 3 Encouragement Award winners (each 100,000 KRW), and 12 Honorable Mentions (each 50,000 KRW). An awards ceremony will be held at the Ogeori Cultural Center in September.
The contest categories include audiovisual materials (photos, videos, audio, film, tapes, video recordings, etc.), documents (diaries, letters, notebooks, booklets, official documents, etc.), and artifacts (daily necessities, currency, stamps, souvenirs, watches, writing instruments, cameras, etc.).
The judging process involves an initial document review, followed by interviews for the shortlisted entries.
The evaluation criteria include ▲ records with high historical and cultural value related to Mokpo City ▲ records considered sustainable and worthy of preservation ▲ records believed to contribute to the development potential of the cultural city.
The winning entries will be posted on the center’s website and SNS, and will be exhibited between September and October. Additionally, curation will be conducted by graduates of the Cultural Gaetmul School’s cultural curator training program.
