"Recalling Memories of That Time" Cyworld Resumes Services Including ID Retrieval (Comprehensive)

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Cyworld launched the functions to find user IDs and check the number of photos and posts on the afternoon of the 2nd.

From 4:20 PM that day, users could access the Cyworld homepage and find their IDs after identity verification.

By entering their name, mobile phone number, date of birth, and completing identity verification through KakaoPay authentication, users were able to confirm their IDs.

Cyworld Z stated, "The ID search and photo viewing services are initially available to 18 million members who have visited Cyworld at least once since January 1, 2015."

According to Cyworld Z, 18 billion photos and 150 million videos have been fully restored.

After verification, users could check their registration history, ID, acorns, background music (BGM), posts, videos, and the number of photos.

Photos from school days uploaded to Cyworld Minihompy in the past also appeared as a preview. However, the full service to view the actual Minihompy has not yet been confirmed.

The company plans to finalize the beta and official services after a two-week period of checking automatic ID search and login services.

Earlier this year, Cyworld Z acquired the operating rights of Cyworld, which was facing financial difficulties, and has been working to resume the service. They had planned to launch login and photo verification services on the 5th of last month but postponed the schedule due to overseas hacking attacks and other reasons.

Former Cyworld CEO Jeon Je-wan expressed support for Cyworld's revival in a notice on the same day. He announced that the procedure to transfer member personal information to the new operator, Cyworld Z, is underway.

Jeon said, "With Cyworld Z successfully completing the development of the Cyworld mobile service, it will come back to you in a great form," and added, "I believe Cyworld will be revived and regain its former reputation as a native SNS."
