Diving athlete Uharam Woo advances to semifinals in 3m event with 5th place finish

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Woo Haram (23, Korea Sports Promotion Foundation), a member of the Korean diving team, advanced to the semifinals by placing 5th in the men's 3m springboard preliminaries at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

On the afternoon of the 2nd, Woo Haram scored a total of 452.45 points over six dives in the men's 3m springboard preliminaries held at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre in Japan, ranking 5th out of 29 competitors. The top 18 advance directly to the semifinals.

In the semifinals held on the 3rd, the top 12 will advance to the finals, which will take place the same day starting at 3 p.m. If Woo Haram reaches the finals, he will be aiming for South Korea's first Olympic medal in diving history.

Meanwhile, Kim Youngnam, who also competed in the men's 3m springboard preliminaries, placed 28th with a total of 286.80 points over six dives and did not advance past the preliminaries.
