[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 2nd that it will hold a "Dementia Awareness Improvement UCC Contest" to commemorate World Alzheimer's Day on September 21 and to promote a dementia-friendly social culture and improve dementia awareness.


The themes of this contest are ▲Improving negative perceptions of dementia ▲Ways to overcome dementia ▲Accurate information about dementia. Participants can choose one of these themes and produce a creative video lasting 40 to 45 seconds to submit.


Eligibility to participate is open to any Jinju citizen or elementary, middle, high school, and university students within the region.


Submissions are accepted from the 1st to the 31st. Applicants can download the application form from the city or Jinju Dementia Safety Center websites and submit their work via email along with the form.


After expert review, a total of 10 works will be selected and announced individually on September 6 or posted on the Jinju Dementia Safety Center website. The selected works will be screened and awarded at the World Alzheimer's Day event.


A city official stated, "The awarded works from this contest will be used for public interest purposes to improve negative perceptions of dementia," adding, "We hope this contest will be an opportunity to reduce prejudice against dementia and that many citizens will show interest and participate."
