[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] The Ministries of Defense of Korea and Singapore held the 6th Defense Strategic Dialogue in Seoul on the 2nd, announcing that they have agreed to further strengthen defense exchange and cooperation, the Ministry of Defense stated.
Kim Man-ki, Director General of Defense Policy at the Ministry of Defense, and Teo Eng Dih, Deputy Secretary for Policy at the Singapore Ministry of Defense, attended as the chief representatives of their respective countries.
At the meeting, both countries agreed to further enhance exchange and cooperation in areas such as defense technology cooperation, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and cybersecurity. Additionally, based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) information signed two years ago during the Korea-ASEAN Special Summit, they decided to expand cooperation in this field as well.
The Ministry of Defense stated, "This Defense Strategic Dialogue is the first face-to-face meeting in eight years," and added, "We will continue to hold this annually to consistently discuss ways to develop defense cooperation between the two countries."
