Women's Volleyball Loses 0-3 to Serbia... Advances to Quarterfinals in 3rd Place

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The South Korean women's volleyball team lost to Serbia in the final group stage match and advanced to the quarterfinals as the 3rd place team in Group A.

The team lost to Serbia 0-3 in sets (18-25, 17-25, 15-25) in the 5th match of the Group A preliminary round of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics women's volleyball, held on the 2nd at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

South Korea finished the group stage in 3rd place in Group A with 7 points (3 wins, 2 losses), behind Brazil (4 wins, 11 points) and Serbia (4 wins, 1 loss, 12 points). The 2nd and 3rd place teams from Group A will face opponents drawn from the 2nd and 3rd place teams of Group B in the quarterfinals. The quarterfinal opponent will be determined based on the results of the Group B preliminary matches held that day.

The quarterfinal match will be held on the 4th at the same venue.
