On the same day, President Moon congratulated through social networking service (SNS), "Congratulations on winning the bronze medal in gymnastics at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This is the first Olympic medal achievement in the history of our women's gymnastics."
President Moon said, "The highest difficulty 'Yeo Seo-jeong' skill, created with strong mental strength and outstanding ability, was very impressive," and added, "Yeo is admirable and proud."
Yeo is the daughter of Yeo Hong-chul, who won a silver medal in gymnastics at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, making them the first parent-child Olympic medalists. President Moon said, "Congratulations on the birth of the parent-child Olympic medalists," and encouraged, "Thank you for giving the people new pride. I will always support you together with the people."
