If You Complete the Running Challenge, Kakao Will Donate for Descendants of Independence Activists

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Throughout August, if you verify your running activity, Kakao Together Value will accumulate donations to support the descendants of independence activists.

Kakao's social contribution platform, Kakao Together Value, is conducting the '2021 Virtual 815 Run' Instagram verification donation campaign until the 31st of this month to commemorate the 76th anniversary of Liberation Day.

'2021 Virtual 815 Run' is a non-face-to-face marathon where participants choose their preferred time and place to run during August in celebration of Liberation Day.

Not only the 3,000 participants who pre-registered for the non-face-to-face marathon but also anyone nationwide can participate in donations throughout August by verifying their completion.

By posting a photo verifying the completion of the run on their Instagram with the hashtags #2021Virtual815Run, #2021ItWillBeOkayKorea, and #KakaoTogetherValue, Kakao will donate 815 won per verification to a fundraising box for building homes for descendants of independence activists.

Separately from the Instagram verification campaign, users can also directly donate to the fundraising box established by Korea Habitat on Kakao Together Value. For each participation donation (cheering, commenting, sharing), Kakao will donate 815 won.

All proceeds from the 2021 Virtual 815 Run individual entry fees, donations collected in the Kakao Together Value fundraising box, and corporate sponsorship donations will be delivered to Korea Habitat and used for improving the housing environment of descendants of independence activists.

Meanwhile, since December 2017, Kakao has been operating the Kakao Together Value platform. Kakao Together Value is an open platform where anyone can propose fundraising and create donation projects on public interest topics that help solve social issues, even if they are not professional organizations or groups.
