[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Ulsan City will award certificates of selection as new technology startup activation support companies to eight companies selected for this year's new technology startup activation support project at 10:30 a.m. on the 2nd in the situation room on the 7th floor of the main building.
The event will be attended by Ulsan Mayor Song Cheol-ho, Ulsan Economic Promotion Agency Director Kim Yeon-min, and representatives of new technology startup activation support companies.
The new technology startup activation private support project is a project that connects promising new technologies owned by industry, academia, and government through cooperation with related local organizations to companies in need, facilitating technology transfer.
Through technology transfer, it focuses on nurturing growth companies by commercialization and research and development to create high added value and jobs.
The selected companies in the commercialization support field are Ganagongyeong, FMV, Plus Jungjeon-gi, Ail, and Plus Studio, totaling five companies.
The research and development support field includes Core Dot Today, Hilixco, and Heros Bio, totaling three companies.
For the selected companies in the commercialization support field, up to 40 million KRW is provided for technology consulting, prototype production, design development, and other support.
In the research and development support field, up to 170 million KRW is provided for research personnel wages, research activity expenses, and research project promotion expenses.
Earlier, Ulsan City signed a business agreement in 2015 with Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) and the Ulsan Enterprise Council to activate industry-academia cooperation, and since 2016, under the supervision of the Ulsan Economic Promotion Agency, has been implementing the new technology startup activation private support project.
Through this, among the total 30 companies that participated until last year, eight succeeded in starting businesses, creating 77 new jobs, and among them, 12 companies succeeded in attracting investments totaling 7.6 billion KRW.
Starting this year, the plan is to add the research and development support field and nurture promising growth companies through more support.
