[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Following the earthquake in Daegu the previous day, an earthquake also occurred in Ulsan on the 1st.
On the 31st of last month, a magnitude 2.5 earthquake occurred in Dalseong-gun, Daegu, causing citizens who felt the tremors to express anxiety, and on the 1st, an earthquake with a lower intensity than Daegu also occurred in Ulsan.
Following the major anxiety and damage caused by the 2016 Gyeongju earthquake and the 2017 Pohang earthquake, consecutive earthquakes in the Gyeongsang-do region have increased residents' anxiety.
Although not strongly felt physically, it has been investigated that the sixth earthquake phenomenon occurred in the Gyeongbuk and Gyeongnam regions and nearby waters within the last two months since June.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, on June 13th at 6:13 a.m., an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.0 occurred 76 km southwest off Ulleungdo, Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk.
The next day, on June 14th at 10:42 p.m., an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.4 occurred 43 km southeast off Nam-gu, Pohang-si.
Then, on July 7th at 6:57 a.m., a magnitude 2.3 earthquake occurred 14 km north of Yecheon-gun, and on July 26th at 6:50 a.m., a magnitude 2.2 earthquake occurred 11 km south-southeast of Sangju-si.
The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that at around 2:19 p.m. on the 1st, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.2 occurred 17 km northeast off Buk-gu, Ulsan.
The epicenter was located at 35.65 degrees north latitude and 129.53 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 13 km.
Earlier, at around 5:17 a.m. on the 31st, a magnitude 2.5 earthquake occurred in Dalseong-gun, Daegu, causing many citizens to be anxious.
The epicenter of this earthquake was at 35.65 degrees north latitude and 128.4 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 22 km.
The instrumental intensity indicating the feeling of tremors was a maximum of 3 in Daegu and Gyeongnam, 2 in Gyeongbuk, and 1 in other regions that day.
An instrumental intensity of 3 means it is noticeably felt indoors and on upper floors of buildings, and stationary cars shake slightly.
An intensity of 2 is felt only by a few people in quiet conditions or on upper floors of buildings, and 1 means most people do not feel it.
