Gangwon-do Hotel Holding Secret Full Party Despite Ban on Parties Faces 'Business Suspension'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Dozens of people were caught holding a pool party on the east coast of Gangwon.

Gangneung City announced on the 1st that it has issued a 10-day business suspension order against Hotel A, where the pool party took place, for violating the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act. Hotel A held a pool party with dozens of participants on the 31st.

The city had previously identified that performances and other events were planned at the hotel's swimming pool three times from the 30th of last month to this day, and on the 30th of last month, it issued an administrative order prohibiting parties hosted by lodging facilities. The city is taking emergency measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and plans to report the party organizers to the police.
