'1600 Visitors' Shinsegae Centum Chanel Store Group Infection Confirmed

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The number of COVID-19 confirmed cases related to the Chanel store at Shinsegae Centum City in Busan has increased to 12.

According to Busan City on the 1st, one employee of the Chanel store at Shinsegae Centum City in Haeundae-gu was confirmed positive on the 28th of last month. Subsequently, contact tracing tests revealed that 6 employees and 5 acquaintances of theirs, totaling 11 additional people, tested positive. The city confirmed that the employees worked together inside the store for extended periods and had contact through the employee break room.

The city has initially imposed self-quarantine measures on 61 department store employees, including Chanel store staff, and 101 visitors who were judged to have had close contact with the confirmed cases.

The number of visitors recommended for testing at the Chanel store reaches 1,600. As of the previous day, 607 people have been tested at the local health center. The store has been closed for four days since the 29th of last month, when the confirmed cases first occurred.
