It was like "entrusting a fish to a cat."
On the 1st, according to the Ulsan District Court Criminal Division 11 (Presiding Judge Park Hyun-bae), a man in his 40s and an accomplice in their 50s who embezzled scrap metal from the metal processing process and pocketed a total of more than 1.4 billion won over eight years were sentenced to prison.
A and B, who were indicted on charges of embezzlement, were each sentenced to three years in prison.
A, who worked at a machine tool manufacturing company in Buk-gu, Ulsan, was indicted on charges of conspiring with B, a tool seller, to resell 5,213 tons of scrap metal on the market from February 2011 to May 2019 and pocketing about 1.442 billion won.
A secretly handed over the scrap metal to B without issuing a tax invoice, and B disposed of the scrap metal, took a portion as a commission, and gave the remaining money to A.
It was revealed that they boldly committed the crime by bringing trucks to the company during working hours and loading the scrap metal.
