'2021 Seoul Urban Architecture Biennale' Advance Ticket Sales Begin... 30% Discount Tickets Available

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] One month before the opening of the '2021 Seoul Urban Architecture Biennale,' tickets allowing visitors to see all paid exhibitions at a discount of more than 30% are being sold in advance.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that tickets can be purchased through Naver Reservation or Ticketlink from 10 a.m. on the day until 6 p.m. on the 30th, for one month.

During this period, general citizens can receive a minimum discount of 32%, and people with disabilities can receive up to 50% off when purchasing admission tickets. There are two types of tickets: the ‘Basic Ticket,’ which can be used once, and the ‘Free Ticket,’ which allows unlimited re-entry. One ticket grants access to all paid exhibitions.

For the Basic Ticket, the price is 15,000 KRW for general public and university students, but if purchased in advance, it costs 10,000 KRW. The Free Ticket costs 25,000 KRW for general public and university students, but if purchased in advance, it is available for 17,000 KRW.

The paid exhibitions held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), including the ‘Theme Exhibition’ and ‘Urban Exhibition,’ showcase works containing artistic interpretations related to the biennale theme, "Crossroads, What Kind of City Will We Live In?"

This exhibition features Renzo Piano, who designed the Pompidou Center, one of France’s top three art museums; Ito Toyo, known for experimental architecture that incorporates virtual worlds, who created the Sendai Mediatheque; and Thom Mayne, who designed the San Francisco Federal Building, selected by Time magazine as one of the ten most remarkable modern buildings in the U.S.
