[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] The rising star Park Min-ji (23, NH Investment & Securities) takes the lead.

On the 30th, at Wooridle Golf Course in Seogwipo City, Jeju Island (Par 72, 6,506 yards), the second day of the first KLPGA Tour event of the second half, the Jeju Samdasoo Masters (total prize money 900 million KRW), Park surged with a 6-under-par round to top the leaderboard at 8-under-par 136. Han Jin-seon (24, Kakao VX) joined this group. Choi Hye-jin (22, Lotte) and Kim Ri-an (22, Daehan Land Trust) are in a chase at a tie for 3rd place (5-under-par 139).

The event was disrupted by heavy rain and fog, temporarily suspended around 3 p.m., and eventually postponed to the 31st. Fifty players were unable to complete their second round. Starting from a tie for 8th place, 3 strokes behind, Park Min-ji made six birdies. She reduced 3 strokes in the front nine with consecutive birdies on holes 14 and 15 and a birdie on hole 17 (par 5), and added two pairs of 'stepping stone birdies' on holes 3, 5, and 7 in the back nine. She is tied for the lead by 3 strokes, aiming for her 7th win of the season since her victory at the Daebo House Open on the 11th.

Park Min-ji, who said "Being at the top of the leaderboard means my condition is good," added, "If I’m on the fairway, I plan to aggressively go for birdies," while lowering expectations by saying, "There are still 36 holes left." Choi Hye-jin added 3-under-par to join the race for the championship. Oh Ji-hyun (25, KB Financial Group), who was the leader the previous day, lost one stroke over four holes and slipped to a tie for 5th place (4-under-par 140). Yu Hae-ran (20, SK Networks), aiming for a third consecutive win, is tied for 51st place (2-over-par 146).
