The bereaved families of the Geochang Incident conducted promotional activities in Nogeun-ri, Yeongdong, Chungbuk.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang County in Gyeongnam announced on the 30th that it attended the 71st anniversary memorial ceremony of the Nogeun-ri Incident in Yeongdong County, Chungbuk, and operated a promotional booth for the 70th anniversary of the Geochang Incident.

The county attends the Nogeun-ri Incident memorial ceremony every year. Especially this year, marking the 70th anniversary of the Geochang Incident, it operated a promotional booth to raise awareness of the Geochang Incident, strengthen solidarity activities with similar incident organizations, and appeal for the necessity and justification of enacting the "Special Act on Compensation for Victims Related to the Geochang Incident, etc."

The promotional booth exhibited photographic records of the Geochang Incident to provide visual interest. Additionally, promotional materials such as leaflets, fans, and notebooks were distributed to the bereaved families of the Nogeun-ri Incident and key government officials.

Jo Jeong-soon, head of the Geochang Incident Project Office, said, "I hope this event will widely spread interest and consensus regarding the Geochang Incident," and added, "On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Geochang Incident, we will spare no administrative support to ensure that the compensation and reparation law is enacted promptly."
