[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The Ministry of Unification announced on the 30th that it approved two applications from private organizations for the export of humanitarian aid materials to North Korea.
However, the Ministry of Unification did not disclose any details regarding the types of humanitarian aid materials approved for export, the supporting entities, the timing, or the North Korean project partners.
Minister of Unification Lee In-young stated at a press briefing that morning, "We will resume the approval of private organizations' export of humanitarian aid materials to North Korea starting today."
The Ministry of Unification had temporarily suspended approval for the export of humanitarian aid materials to North Korea following the shooting incident involving a public official in the West Sea last September.
Subsequently, on the 27th, following the restoration of the inter-Korean communication line, the Ministry resumed approvals.
