Balanced Growth in Hospital EMR, Medical Device Distribution, and Pharmaceutical Data Businesses
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Ubicare announced on the 30th that its operating profit for the second quarter, based on consolidated financial statements, increased by 49.3% year-on-year to 3.5 billion KRW. During the same period, sales rose by 7.1% to 27.4 billion KRW.
All business sectors showed balanced growth, leading to improved profitability. By business segment, hospital and clinic, pharmacy EMR (Electronic Medical Records) recorded 13.9 billion KRW, medical device distribution 10.9 billion KRW, and pharmaceutical and data business 2.6 billion KRW. These represent growth rates of 7.8%, 5.4%, and 10.3%, respectively. In particular, sales from additional hospital, clinic, and pharmacy businesses increased, and sales performance of the online medical supplies shopping mall and digital pharmaceutical marketing solutions improved.
An Ubicare official stated, “The normalization of business activities, which had been constrained due to COVID-19, drove the increase in performance,” and added, “The improvement trend in performance is expected to continue in the second half of the year.”
Meanwhile, Ubicare is expanding its business portfolio in the medical healthcare industry, including distribution, pharmaceutical and data, and digital healthcare platforms, in addition to its core EMR field, as a key partner in the digitalization of hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies.
