[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 30th that it received the 'Regional Development Award' at the Korea Local Autonomy Management Awards held on the 29th in the large conference room of the county office, attended by Kim Chunghwan, chairman of the judging committee of the Korea Public Autonomy Research Institute, and other senior officials.
The Korea Local Autonomy Management Awards recognize local governments that have led regional development through efficient organizational management and active performance creation. It is regarded as the most prestigious evaluation system among private sector local government assessments.
The county received high scores for establishing a new growth industry base linked to regional industries, including ▲building an e-mobility industry ecosystem as a next-generation growth engine ▲creating a green car production cluster of 100,000 units at the Daema Electric Vehicle Industrial Complex ▲constructing resident-participatory solar power plants (6.2MW, 5 locations) ▲establishing a large-scale wind power system demonstration complex.
It was also evaluated for improving the structure of the local industrial economy.
Governor Kim Junsung said, “Through field-centered county administration, we will strive to create the best living Yeonggwang by promoting regional development projects that residents need and are satisfied with, and by providing the best administrative services. Although this is a difficult time both domestically and internationally due to COVID-19, all residents will unite to create a Yeonggwang that leaps higher.”
