Meeting for the Development of Asan's SoBuJang Industry and Innovation of Local Industries
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (hereinafter, SBC) announced on the 30th that it held an on-site meeting with National Assembly member Kang Hoon-sik of the Industry, Trade, and Small and Medium Business Committee and Yeonggwang YKMC in Asan, Chungnam (CEO Jang Gwan-seo) to discuss the development of the materials, parts, and equipment industry in the Asan region and the innovation of local industries.
At the meeting organized by Assemblyman Kang and SBC, eight representatives of materials, parts, and equipment companies based in Asan, including Han Hyung-gi, CEO of SAC, and Kim Woon-gon, CEO of Gukbo Optics, attended. The event was conducted with minimal attendees and strictly adhered to government COVID-19 prevention guidelines such as wearing masks.
Representatives of companies in the materials, parts, and equipment sector shared vivid voices from the field regarding operational difficulties and proposed policies necessary for regional industrial innovation and growth. In particular, they requested policy support for temporary relief of management difficulties caused by rising raw material and logistics costs due to COVID-19, inducement of high-level talent inflow such as outstanding students from local universities, and expansion of corporate investment conditions when establishing regional industrial complexes.
Assemblyman Kang said, "Through this meeting, I was able to feel the necessity of expanding policies and projects for regional industrial innovation, job creation, and fostering materials, parts, and equipment companies," adding, "I will carefully review the opinions and strive to reflect any necessary improvements in policies."
Chairman Kim Hak-do stated, "SBC is actively working to improve regulations that hinder corporate growth for the innovation of regional key industries," and added, "We will continue to listen to voices from the field and actively support companies so that they can quickly overcome crises and use them as opportunities for new leaps and growth."
