Daejeon Talent Development Scholarship Foundation Provides 180 Million KRW in Scholarships to 267 Students in the First Half of the Year

[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Daejeon Talent Development Scholarship Foundation announced on the 30th that it selected 267 scholarship recipients in the first half of this year and awarded a total of 183.1 million KRW in scholarships.


The scholarships were awarded to 83 "Talent Scholars" who achieved excellent results in specific fields, 164 "Hope Scholars" who are children of basic livelihood security recipients or lower-income families with outstanding academic performance, and 20 "Foreign International Student Scholars" studying at local universities.


By grade, 3 elementary school students received 300,000 KRW each, 35 middle school students received 500,000 KRW each, 206 high school students received 700,000 KRW each, 3 university students received 1,500,000 KRW each, and 20 foreign international students received 800,000 KRW each.


Earlier, the scholarship foundation announced and accepted applications for scholarship selection from April 16 to May 14, and after a review by the Scholarship Selection Committee, the final recipients were decided.


The scholarship foundation plans to select a total of 395 scholarship recipients in the second half of the year and award 388 million KRW in scholarships following the first half.


Heo Tae-jung, Mayor of Daejeon (Chairman of the Scholarship Foundation), urged, "I hope each student works hard and dreams passionately to become the best expert in their desired field and contribute to the local community as talented individuals in the future."
