Appointment Schedule for Local Government Nurses, Health, and Medical Technology Personnel Shortened by Over Three Months... 30 More Hired Compared to Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it has expedited the recruitment schedule for nursing, public health, and medical technology positions in this year's local government civil service examination, selecting 410 infectious disease response personnel early on the 30th.
This advancement moved the original schedule, which included interviews in August and September and the announcement of final successful candidates on September 29, with appointments planned for after November, forward by about three months. The number of recruits also increased by 30 compared to the previous year.
Seoul plans to deploy the selected personnel to the field in August to alleviate the heavy workload of frontline workers caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to support the smooth operation of the recently expanded temporary screening clinics aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19.
This early recruitment reflects the voices from the field requesting the prompt replenishment of infectious disease response personnel. Of the 410 recruits, 329 are nurses, 68 are public health workers, and 13 are medical technologists, and they will be assigned to health centers in 25 autonomous districts starting from the 17th of next month.
Seoul confirmed and announced the final successful candidates for the nursing, public health, and medical technology categories of the '2021 1st Seoul Metropolitan Government Local Government Civil Service Examination,' totaling 410 individuals.
No Eun-joo, Director of Talent Recruitment, stated, “We selected competent professionals through a fair and transparent recruitment process,” adding, “Considering the urgency of infectious disease response highlighted by the spread of COVID-19 and to secure frontline personnel to implement Seoul’s strengthened quarantine measures early, we shortened the recruitment schedule as much as possible.”
