[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] World-renowned tennis star Novak Djokovic (No. 1, Serbia) has advanced to the men's singles semifinals at the Tokyo Olympics.

On the 29th, Djokovic defeated home court player Kei Nishikori (No. 69, Japan) in the men's singles quarterfinals held at Ariake Tennis Park in Tokyo, Japan, in just 1 hour and 10 minutes with a score of 2-0 (6-2, 6-0).

Djokovic will face Alexander Zverev (No. 5, Germany) in the semifinals. The semifinals of this tournament will feature matches between Djokovic-Zverev and Pablo Carre?o Busta (No. 11, Spain) versus Karen Khachanov (No. 25, Russian Olympic Committee).

If Djokovic wins this tournament, he will move one step closer to achieving the first-ever "Golden Grand Slam" in men's tennis history.

The "Golden Grand Slam" refers to winning all four major tournaments and the Olympic singles title in a single year, a feat only achieved once by Steffi Graf (Germany) in 1988 in the women's division.

Djokovic has already won the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon singles titles this year. If he sweeps this tournament and the US Open, which begins at the end of August, he will become the first male player to reach the "Golden Grand Slam" milestone.
