[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Jeonnam Provincial Council announced that Chairman Kim Han-jong (Chairman of the Korea Council of Heads of Local Governments · Jangseong 1) received the ‘Korea Parliament Legislative Award’ in the metropolitan city and provincial council category at the ‘3rd Korea Parliament and Administration Expo’ held on the 29th at BEXCO, Busan.


The ‘Korea Parliament Legislative Award’ is given to council members who have contributed to local autonomy and decentralization among the councils participating in the ‘3rd Korea Parliament and Administration Expo,’ hosted by the Korea Parliament and Administration Expo Organizing Committee (Chairman Choi Bong-gi) and 10 local newspapers including Jeonnam Ilbo.


Chairman Kim Han-jong, who won in the metropolitan city and provincial council category, was highly praised for his achievements, including leading the revision of the ‘Local Autonomy Act’ for the first time in 32 years through various activities such as political meetings and strengthening cooperation between city and provincial councils after being elected as the 17th Chairman of the Korea Council of Heads of Local Governments in the first half of the term.


Chairman Kim Han-jong said, “This Parliament and Administration Expo served as a meaningful venue for communication and exchange between local councils and local governments, contributing to the growth and development of local autonomy,” and added, “I will do my best to realize true decentralization by establishing the status and strengthening the authority of local councils in the future.”
